WHEREAS, Israel has been a sovereign nation since May 14, 1948; and,
WHEREAS, Israel was attacked from Gaza on October 7, 2023 by the Islamic terrorist group Hamas, the elected governing body of Gaza, and a proxy of the Islamic Republic of Iran; and,
WHEREAS, 1200 innocent lives were brutally murdered and mutilated, countless others were terrorized, and 200 hostages, including Americans, were taken; and,
WHEREAS, Israel, in an effort to defend itself, struck back against the Islamic terrorist group Hamas in Gaza; and,
WHEREAS, anti-Israel and anti-Semitic political groups across the United States have risen up calling for the destruction of Israel as a nation and the Jewish people in general; and,
WHEREAS, political interference strengthens the resolve of the terrorists and saps the commitment of Israel and her allies to carry out their military mission; and,
WHEREAS, support for our allies and a stronghold for western ideas in the region is in the overall interest of the United States; and,
WHEREAS, the United Nations organization has abandoned its mission to protect peace amongst nations as evidenced by the sitting U.N. Security Council member who is actively invading another sovereign country, and troops deployed from the U.N. have been found to have engaged in pillage, rape, extortion, and murder; and,
WHEREAS, the United States is a signatory to the Oslo Accord that states that a two state solution has to be reached through bilateral negotiations between Israel and the Palestinian Authority; and,
WHEREAS, the Biden State Department is attempting to force Israel to accept a two state solution with the Palestinian Authority of the West Bank, without good faith, while at war with Hamas in direct violation of the Oslo Accord; now, therefore,
BE IT RESOLVED that the Wyoming Republican Party stands in support of The Nation of Israel in its right to exist and defend itself, protect its borders and its citizens; and,
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the Wyoming Republican Party condemns anti-Semitism in all its forms.
